A pubnight announcement a day early! Must be a special occasion. In a rare twist of the pubnight calendar, this week's soiree falls directly between the birthdays of a pubnight founder and a pubnight inheritor. What better reason to prepare early.
After hours of deliberation (ok, minutes of intoxication), Kris (9/24) and Stuart (9/20) have chosen Pravda as the pubnight du semaine. Last week, in addition to the big news that you probably missed, we decided to do a "Best of..." countdown of pubnight for the next five weeks (why five? wake up, show up once in a while - maybe I'll tell you next week). So, tomorrow night is "Best martini, best vodka bar, and best waitress uniforms" (Hooters was disqualified, being a theme restaurant and all), all in one.
Pravda is a swanky bar that wouldn't let most of us in on a Saturday night. Since it's Wednesday, though, they were more than happy to hold a table for 12 for us. Seeing that it's my credit card they are holding, I would like to get a more accurate count of attendees for tomorrow. The current plan is Pravda at 8:30 (you don't want to dine there unless you're in the mood for $200 caviar).
Please RSVP (positive only) by 2pm tomorrow, so I can give them a call. If you're up for dinner before Pravda, let me know and I'll find us a less-than-swanky place. And, if you're in a birthday-wishing mood, try piltch@cat.nyu.edu and krispenn@stealth.net
