Wednesday Pub Night #184 - 8:00 pm at Musical Box

Back to the Pub Night home page

There's been some recent discrepancy about the name of the place we're going to tonight. Petro swears it's Musical Box, while TK holds out that it's Music Box. CitySearch concurs with Petro.

I know it as a cool place without a name that I stumbled into one night when Mona's was too smoky to even see my drink on the bar. I remember thinking that it's a good place for crowds - lots of miss matched 70's couches in the large back room also containing a full size pool table.

There's no food where we are going this week - so eat first. We'll be there at 8pm. If anyone is interested in meeting up for dinner let me know...

In my hunt for strange facts that happened this day in history I found:
In 1909, the Federal Narcotics Prohibitions Act was passed as the first federal legislation prohibiting narcotics (opium).
Also this week in either 1908 or 1910 (several sites were conflicted on the year) - The Boy Scouts were founded.
Maybe someone tonight can set us straight.

see you there,
kris, j and petro

TK's Addendum: Okay, there is a possibility that I'm wrong about the name, but I guarantee that that pool table is not full-sized. It's a perfectly reasonably sized bar table, but it's still a bar-sized table.

If I remember correctly, it's got black felt. Kinda cool. :)
