Wednesday Pub Night #198 (5/17/00) -7:00 pm at West Village Saloon
Back to the Pub Night home page
Good afternoon.
With only two weeks to go before number 200, I recently perused the Previous PubNight list on the now 2-year old PubNight.com web page (Three cheers for Greg!) and noted a geographic center around which our gatherings revolve. It is in the center of the Village near NYU, where several regulars work or formerly worked. Not surprisingly - and not coincidentally - it is also very close to where Stuart, our founder, used to live and where I currently live. We don't like to have long walks home on Wednesday nights.
As you know, Stuart moved to Maine last year. After 7-1/2 years on West 12th Street and 9 years living Downtown, I am also moving north, but not quite as far as Maine. I signed a contract on an apartment on West 55th (Hells Kitchen). I also glanced at my undergraduate diploma a few days ago and noticed that this coming Saturday marks the 10th anniversary of my graduation from Manhattan College (Go, Jaspers!)
So, this week's PubNight is my choice. Therefore, it is in the West Village (my soon-to-be former home) and includes meat. It is also a short walk from home.

... and on next week's all-new episode of PubNight, a tragic event that will change at least one friend's life forever. Join us on May 24th for "Turning 30", a PubNight all about Jay, as he offically turns old, hitting the big 3-0. Followed on May 31st by the 200th episode of the no-award winning PubNight.
