Back to the Pub Night home page
welcome -
Since I'm not quite sure where the rest of the triumvirate is (Nova Scotia?), I have decided to crawl out from under my desk and choose this pubnight all by my self...
There's a bar(?) near my office that I've been itching to see called 'Puck Fair' - that's right, it's directly across from the venerable Puck building (hence the name, so I assume)... Unfortunately, there's not much info online about Puck Fair - so Gerard Young (my good friend and fellow pubnighter) submitted his own review to me:
"Yes yes yes. Really cool spot. About a dozen beers on tap (including cider), a variety of food, high ceilings w/ a sky light, cool tres' chic music (there's even a DJ booth tho no one was spinning when I was there). No pool tables, darts or TV's. Not that kind of bar. They're definitely going for style over frat (no offense!:o) ). There's even a smaller, more secluded bar downstairs by the bathrooms and a few seats upstairs by the highly visible DJ booth. I didn't get a chance to check out drink specials and special drinks. And since I was there at 6pm on a Monday, I don't know if there is a wait staff either. But definitely put it on the Pub night list. If for no other reason than we can just walk across the street to get there after work! :o)" (submitted by Gerard Young: copyright 2000)
incidentally - everyone should go to macworld and see the new apple g4 8"square cube (I think they should have used the tag line "it's 8 inches of power")
well folks that's about all I know... see you there at 7:30pm
