Wednesday Pub Night #209 (8/1/00) - 7:30pm at Failte

Back to the Pub Night home page

Good Afternoon,

Since most of us have gotten over our fascination of all things Canadian in the past few days, it seems right that we're going to an Irish bar this week. Although Canada and Ireland are separated by a big pond (a really BIG pond) they share one useful (and generally very good) export in common for pubnight: Beer.

Reasons to drink this week (besides beer):
1876 - Wild Bill (James Butler) Hickok was gunned down by Jack McCall
1824 - Fifth Avenue was opened in New York City
1779 - Francis Scott Key born (uh, he wrote our national anthem)
1939 - Wes Craven born
1981 - MTV (Music Television) made its debut at 12:01 a.m.

Where are we going this week? Citysearch didn't have much to say about this bar (in fact, the page is blank). This bar has claimed to won an award for it's pouring of Guinness. We'll have to judge for ourselves.

I'm working on getting the pubnight stat's page updated... no promises it'll be done by tomorrow.
See you there!
