Wednesday Pub Night #220 (10/18/00) - 8 pm at Rivertown Lounge

Back to the Pub Night home page

Good Evening,

We've been meaning to head to the lower east side for a Pubnight for a while now. The biggest challenge (or maybe I haven't been on the LES recently) is finding a bar that can accommodate us. I see this is as a good thing. Also this week we are celebrating Pubnighter Melissa's birthday. Since Melissa mentioned that she hasn't been to many bars outside of Pubnight, she asked us to help her out picking a place for this week.
Citysearch reviews this week's Pubnight pick as:
"The Rivertown Lounge attempts to cover all the nouveau Lower East Side bar bases at once within its massive space: There's exposed brick everywhere, a pool table in the back in its own little space, a wood-paneled neighborhood bar atmosphere, and various couches clustered together in an attempt to accommodate the loungers."
There's also an excellent scotch and bourbon selection, for those of you who are feeling the chill of fall.

Other reasons to drink this week:
1969 - "Led Zeppelin II" was released.
1986 - The film biography "Sid And Nancy" opened nationally.
1990 - The City of Los Angeles declares today "Rocky Horror Picture Show Day."
2000 - In New York, Madame Tussaud's Wax Museum opened to the public.

So where are we going this week? South of Houston and North of Delancey.

See you there!
