Back to the Pub Night home page
Good Evening,
This week's Pubnight is heading to a new bar that I hope becomes one of new our favorites. Having ventured there recently on a fact finding mission to see if it was Pubnight appropriate (research is half the fun of choosing the bars), I can safely say the sake choices are excellent and quantitative.
TK, had this insight to add when discussing bar possibilities for this
week:
"Jay and I were very disappointed when, a little less than a year ago,
one
of our favorite Japanese restaurants in the neighborhood, Kameda,
suddenly
disappeared. We saw construction going on in the old space, and when
one
day we saw a woman lounging in the doorway, we asked her what it was
going
to reopen as. She said it was going to be a bar. Jay and I were
slightly
encouraged, because even though we missed Kameda, it's always exciting
to
have a new bar nearby. A few weeks later, the bar opened, and we
immediately noticed that the front window was filled with elegant sake
bottles. We vowed that the following Saturday, we would pay our first
visit. That Saturday rolled around, and along with a friend who
recently
moved here from Boston and my underage cousin from Connecticut, we
ventured into the new sake bar. We sat down at the bar and were handed
menus. At first glance, we realized where we were. "Decibel!" I
yelled
out. "MEGAdecibel," the bartender corrected."
Where are we going this week? Megadecibel has great Japanese snacks that
many of you may not consider dinner to go along with your sake (they
also have a full bar).
Look for us downstairs.
See you there!
