i’d like it if they liked us, but I don’t think they like us...
so tell me where’s the party, and how come we weren’t invited?
one size does not fit all.
square pegs, square pegs
square, square pegs
always never quite right...
-- Square Pegs, by the Waitresses

The final episode of "Square Pegs", a quintessential 80's television show, aired on March 7, 1983, after having premiered 5-1/2 months earlier on September 27, 1982. Westchesterites should note that it was based on the creator's own experiences at Somers High School. It launched the careers of Sarah Jessica Parker, Tracey Nelson, and Jami Gertz, and included Merritt Butrick (1959-1989), who also played Dr. David Marcus (a scientist and the angry illegitimate son of Captain Kirk) in Star Trek: The Wrath of Khan (1982), Star Trek III: The Search for Spock (1984), and Next Generation episode "Symbiosis". Now, about tonight...
Jay requested cocktails. The unemployed deserve reasonable prices. With Kris' and Beth's recent antics, we thought we needed some makeout nooks. We found a place that has it all. Bahi.

Stay warm, plan on coming to PubNight at Bahi, and be sure to set your VCRs for the Square Pegs mini-marathon on Nickelodeon, beginning Friday night at 10.

Petro, Kris, and Jay

PS - Seventy five years ago tomorrow (3/7/26), the first trans-Atlantic telephone call was placed (London-New York).
