With these words, Gilbert and Sullivan's "The Mikado" premiered at London's Savoy Theatre on March 14, 1885, 116 years ago. And on March 30th of this year (two weeks away), the Blue Hill Troupe, with Petro on its Board of Directors, will open Gilbert and Sullivan's "Patience" at the Heckscher Theatre of el Museo del Barrio (104th & Fifth Ave) for 8 performances. All proceeds benefit Urban Pathways, which helps formerly homeless individuals to develop independent living and job skills. See www.bht.org for details.
This Wednesday, March 14th, you can leave PubNight a bit early to catch Clark and Rob (aka pH10) spin a few sets at UNITYGAIN, "nyc's floating environmental platform for live electronic music and realtime interactive video." You'll have to check with Clark (cjnelson@nyx.net) to see what time their set begins.
Whether you are a fan of European musicals about Asia or the North American electronic update to African rhythms, just don't sit home watching Australian Survivor. PubNight will be celebrating Vineel's and Carol's return through South America from...Antarctica... their recent vacation spot and this week's PubNight location.
