PubNight #244 (04/11/01) - 8:00 pm at No Malice Palace
Back to the Pub Night home page
Good Afternoon,
This week PNNY is venturing to a new bar in one of our favorite
neighborhoods. Citysearch describes this venue as;
"Its cavernous interior is surprisingly intimate, thanks to
intelligent
groupings of furniture, and opens into a rundown, paved garden in
the
rear. Decorating touches include a heatless electric fire, women's
bowling trophies and an eclectically stocked bookshelf ("The Magic
Mountain" sits next to "John Wayne: A Tribute")."
The triumvirate agreed it was worth checking out.
This week there are no admitted PNNY birthdays, death of rock stars or
celestial events to celebrate drinking with, so here are some general
historical points of interest:
1930 - The first synthetic rubber was produced. (who knew it would turn
into a popular clothing material?)
1993 - Actress Lisa Bonet filed for divorce from Lenny Kravitz. (petro?)
2000 - Metallica filed suit against Napster, the University of Southern
California,
Yale University and Indiana University for copyright infringement,
unlawful use of
digital audio interface device and violations of the Racketeering
Influenced &
Corrupt Organizations Act (RICO). (*sigh* - need I say more?)
Where are we going this week you are asking? Back to the East Village
to...
Thanks to TK for orchestrating last week's PNNY and email.
See you there!
