PubNight #246 (04/25/01) - 8:00 pm at Korova Milk Bar

Back to the Pub Night home page

Good Afternoon,

This week PNNY is sending off one of our veteran Pubnighter's as he ventures out to the west coast for the summer. When I asked Daniel (or, Thor to some of you), what he would miss most about NYC bars this summer, he replied:

"ok, I've been to a few new bars in the last couple weeks, but none of them were up to par, or bar so to speak. So I'm mining the nostalgia pot and first I find Googies the bar I spent much of my frosh year of college at, a bar noted for it's free peanuts and the fact that a certain young looking friend of mine was carded one year Before Goulianiazation(1 BG). But then I thought, what will I really miss for 4 months in Seattle, it certainly won't be annoying kids drinking cheap beer, there'll be plenty of that.

What I will miss is electric blue martinis and frozen embryos. ... Korova ...

We were there last September, but it's a good pubnight bar. That little cubbie hole where people usually smoke sit's 15, with comfortable seating for the rest. Besides the beer is cheap, the drinks fancy and the bartender on Wednesdays is usually laid back. And everyone can debate whether it's based on the movie or the book."

So join us for some outrageous frozen cocktails (like a frozen embryo) and ask Daniel/Thor what he's doing this summer, since I can't remember.

See you there!
