Back to the Pub Night home page
Good Afternoon, This week PNNY is going to a new venue that's been around for years, on our list to check out for PNNY for years, but somehow, we never have (I read through the whole "Previous PubNights" page just to be sure).
In the tradition of trying out bars ranging from swank to dive... this one errs on the side of dive:
" An irritated bartender put it best when he was asked to make a Screaming Orgasm: "Missy, this is a bar where people come to get drunk fast and cheap. I'll mix two things together: vodka and orange juice, rum and Coke, tonic and gin. You want something more, go somewhere else."
As many of us are enjoying looking forward to cheap drinks these days, this venue has something for everyone.
In Pubnight random trivia history this week... also know as 'reasons to drink' we have the following tidbits:
1429 - Joan of Arc defeated the besieging English at Orleans.
1926 - Americans Richard Byrd and Floyd Bennett became the first men to fly an airplane over the North Pole.
1950 - Tom Peterson (Cheap Trick), born
1962 - A laser beam was successfully bounced off Moon for the first time.
1962 - Dave Gahan (Depeche Mode), born
A reminder to anyone interested in being on the Pubnight Who's Who page... send Petro (petro@petrucelli.com) your birthday info (sans year), and a url to something of yours, if you've got one.
So where are we going this week? They mix good basic (cheap!!) drinks, decent beer (in a bottle) choices, and a fun juke box.
