PubNighters, one and all --

Happy 58th Birthday to Rico "Petro" Petrocelli, former Boston Red Sox shortstop and third baseman (1963,65-76), born 6/27/43, and Happy 50th Birthday to actress Julia Duffy (Newhart's Stephanie Vanderkellen), born in St. Paul, MN on 6/27/51.

This week, we are going to "A divey, hole-in-the-wall rock club for over 20 years [that] has turned into a neon yuppie haven, lit with multi-colored squares on the walls." Or, as one reviewer stated, "Not a bad place to drink blue things and feel chic for 60 seconds."

We'll be getting adventurous soon, heading to an un-PubNighted borough and returning on our annual trip to another of the "outer boroughs." Until then, take advantage of the short commute to a relatively central location in the East Village.

On June 27, 1652, New Amsterdam (now N.Y.C.) imposed the first speed limit in America, specifying that it is illegal for traffic within the city limits to proceed at a gallop. So, for those coming by horse, no galloping.
