This week is long lost Pubnighter G's birthday. Here's what he has to say for himself on the occasion:
What a difference a year maaaaakes. 8760 little houuurrrrrs! Just think. This time last year I was riding high on a nice promotion at work, the company stock was at $120 while my options sat at $12, one of my two best friends became a father, and I briefly revisited my college days of being a ho. One year later I reminisce on a year of being laid off while my options became worthless as company stock dropped to $2.25, 3 months of unemployment ended by indentured servitude and virtual bankruptcy. But also standing up for my other best friend at his wedding in April while sorely missing TK and Jay's in October. And most important, finding the love of my life who saved me from myself.
So to commemorate the new ring on the ol' oak tree we will stop by one of my first NYC staples, Botanica. Don't worry, I'm not going to do a Texas style pubnight this year. I'm saving that for my b-day party on Friday night which all are invited to as well. I know I haven't been to PN in a while so hopefully you guys will remember face when I arrive!
