Back to the Pub Night home page
Good Afternoon -
This week previous Birthday PNNY'ers Tamara and Rebecca teamed up to select the venue and author this week's email.
For this week's pubnight, we're heading west again in honor of Rebecca (who turned the big 3-0 over the holidays) and Tamara (who's too afraid to tell her age, lest it incite a bevy of crib and cradle jokes).
Here are some momentous events that happened on our birthdays:
Tamara (December 17):
NYC traffic regulation creates the 1st 1-way street
(1791), Orville and Wilbur Wright make the first
successful aircraft flight in history (1903), and New
York struck by a blizzard which results in 27" of snow
(1947).
Rebecca (December 20):
George Washington's body interred at Mount Vernon
(1799), 13th Amendment ratified, slavery abolished
(1865), and "Wonder Woman" debuts on ABC (1976).
Please join us as we wet our alcoholic apetites at the Dew Drop Inn, site of Pubnights #221, #183, and #97. Of the Dew Drop, Rebecca fondly recollects, "It was the first Pubnight at which I got utterly smashed. I just didn't know what I was up against when I accepted that fall-off-the-back-porch iced tea from Chris Sokol." Tamara (having recently exceeded her yearly alcohol quota) has only this to say, "No comment."
