PubNight #287 (02/20/02) - 8pm at Open

Good Afternoon -

This week PNNY is going back to the tradition of trying out new bars around the city. If you have a place to recommend which you think would be good for Pubnight - send it on to the triumvirate.
For our venture to a new place this week, PNNY is heading to the neighborhood where most of the major art galleries have migrated to, Chelsea.

Since there are no apparent holidays to celebrate this week (whereas last week there were many) here's some arts-related trivia to go with neighborhood:
1856 - The tintype camera was patented by Professor Hamilton L. Smith
1865 - M .I .T establishes 1st US collegiate architectural school
1872 - The Metropolitan Museum of Art opened in New York City.
1878 - inventor Thomas Edison patented the phonograph
1974 - 1st American Music Award

Reviews on CitySearch describe this bar as "The service is extremely friendly, the prices are moderate, and the clientele is eccentric." So where are we going this week? Even if you're not feeling in any particular cultural mood, come out and be part of the eccentric clientele. Also, one of our favorite new bars is right around the corner (and this week's back-up).

See you there!
