Ever wonder how far the $1.50 MTA fare will take you? Well, today I stretched it to 3 subway lines and one bus (yes, a bus) through 3 boroughs. Ultimately, I ended up in Queens at Target - which is worth checking out if you need cheap and funky housewares. I now have directions. Anyway on to Pubnight this week:

This week we are doing 2 venues for Pubnight. Something old and something new. Why are we doing 2 places on a Wednesday you might ask? (It is going to be warmer out tomorrow for this). First, we are attempting to keep to our tradition of trying out new places. Secondly, later in the night it's imperative we go over to the Stoned Crow and help the 4th member of the triumvirate hone her newly acquired bar-tending skills.

Here's some history this week to discuss on the way:

• On March 6, 1992, 10 years ago, personal computer users braced for a "virus" known as "Michelangelo," set to trigger in two parts. The first damaged files stored on floppy disks, and the second destroyed files on hard drives. If an infected computer were booted up on March 6, the virus would erase certain portions of the hard drive. Only scattered cases of lost files were reported.
• March 6, 1978, "Hustler" magazine publisher Larry Flynt is shot and left partially paralyzed while walking down a street in Lawrenceville,GA. he had been on trial for distributing obscene materials
• March 6, 1836, the Alamo in San Antonio, Texas, fell to Mexican forces led by Mexican General Antonio Santa Anna after a 13-day siege.
