PubNight #307 (7/10/02) - 7pm at Googies

Good Afternoon -

This week is Mike "I excel-under-pressure" B's birthday. Come out this week and drink for 2 momentous occasions.
----

I don't have the short-term birthday synergy going on that Dan did with his Pride Day birthday two weeks ago -- I mean, there are no more public sex acts in New York on my birthday than on any other day of the year. What I *do* have, though, is a venue that works better now than at any other time.

Googie's has been my family's business for thirty-odd years, and will be until the final sale goes through some time this summer. Maybe there was some spell cast by The Fantasticks that's gone now. Or maybe my parents are just too old to deal with other people's drinking problems anymore. Either way, this is going to be the last chance to do it before there are some major changes. Even better, unlike the only previous Pub Night visit some five years ago, the school year is over and we've been promised the bank of tables in the main room, neatly solving the two main obstacles to having it there.

I'd describe the place in greater detail for those few of you who haven't ever been there, but I don't think I can be objective. Plus I might just start crying. Sniff.

See you there!
