Good Afternoon,
This week we're kissing the CAT goodbye. Although there will be no actual live cats at PN this week to kiss (unless you bring your own), read on below from long time CAT member Crispy for an explanation:
8-odd years ago, the erstwhile leader of Pubnight (the triumvirate, before there was a triumvirate) sought surcease from his duties at work in a few pints at a local pub. The duties were those of Director of Operations, and they were performed at the NYU Center for Advanced Technology. The pub, of course, was Swift's. Thus was founded the institution of pubnight.
This week, we gather to celebrate the life of the organization which drove our peerless founder to his Wednesday night drinking, and to echo the age-old refrain:
"The CAT is dead, long live the CAT."
Well, perhaps the CAT as such has not passed on, but our jobs there have. What better way to mark this passage than with the traditional mid-week drinking which was in part inspired by the CAT? To this end, we have chosen a well-known establishment within (more or less) staggering distance of the CAT: Cedar Tavern (see below).
So, come join us, including PN's "peerless founder" for a pint or three in drinking to the end of the foundation from which PN's everywhere were founded. Look for us upstairs.
See you there!
