Good Afternoon-

This issue of the Pubnight email is aimed not to include the misspelling of anyone's name nor any incidental or accidental "outting" of fellow Pubnighters.

Now that the disclaimer is in place, let's get on with the email.

For months, some of us have been day-dreaming about quitting our jobs and moving on to something more noble, or worthy of our time than slaving for the (wo)man. Last year, one of us did. Madrid quit her not-quite-defined position at a political-based start-up to enter the NYC Teaching Fellows program.

After some rudimentary training from the city – which included martial arts self-defense, hostage negotiation, and ABC's for 14-year-olds – Madrid was awarded her first teaching gig, in da' Bronx.

This week, we're celebrating Madrid's survival of her first year of teaching. When I asked Madrid what she thought of her teaching experience, she shook her head and said "I just need a drink. Several."

Just when you thought you had been some badass 14-year-old in your misspent youth, Madrid's stories are scary enough to have us all running back to the corporate machine.

So where are we going this week? Come join Madrid for a well-made Mohito or 4 at one of her favorite bars in the East Village and help celebrate her summer freedom.

Look for us in the back garden if the weather agrees.

See you there!
-Kris, Jay, TK, Petro, Mike, and Madrid
