Good Rainy Afternoon -
This week we're celebrating Rebecca's birthday Pubnight in our favorite neighborhood bar in Brooklyn. (Or Living Room v2 as it has been known to be called.)
Here's what Rebecca has to say for herself this year:
Get your drinking boots on* folks, we're going to Union Pool in Williamsburg this week! WooHoo! It's my birthday pubnight, and I've conveniently (for me) chosen a bar within stumbling distance of my apartment. My actual birthday isn't until the 20th, so this is but the opening of a two-week-long celebration of my appearance on this planet. I promise this year I'm letting go of my hangup about competing with that Jesus guy for birthday attention, even though I AM turning 33 and have not yet fulfilled my messianic destiny. Hell, I haven't even gotten around to finally painting my kitchen. Which is likely due to the fact that I am always out having way too much fun with you crazy people.
*I have no idea what drinking boots are, I might have just made that up. (Altho if you've ever been in the Pool around 3am, boots are advisable.)
So, how do I get to this crazy bar? Very easily!
Take the L train to the 2nd stop in Brooklyn, Lorimer St, exit at back of train. Walk up the stairs to your left, at the top of the stairs, turn right towards the traffic light. Walk 2 short blocks on Union (across Metropolitan towards the BQE). Union Pool is on the right at the corner.
