Good Afternoon -
You can take the girl out of Brooklyn, but you can't take the Brooklyn out of the girl.
Sometimes you just need to head back to your old hood - and if it happens to coincide with a PNNY'ers birthday - even better.
This week we're celebrating Jon Breedlove's 30th birthday. For those of you who have rounded the 30 corner, you appreciate the ability of being within stumbling distance of your house for certain occasions. Having someone help you home is adviseable as well.
So what better way to ordain Breedlove into his 30's (IMHO, everything is better after 30), than to toss us back to our youth of playing our favorite 80's video games. Yes indeed, we need a little Barcade.
Barcade is located in Williamsburg (2 blocks from the Lorimer L stop). Now before you moan and groan about Brooklyn: 1) the bar is closer to the subway than most places we go in Manhattan, 2) they have an impressive microbrew selection from around the country, and 3) some of us flew 3000 miles to be here this week, so stop being a wuss about taking the L to the 2nd stop in Brooklyn.
But on to the drinking (and how to get there):
Take the L to the second stop in Brooklyn - Lorimer St. Walk towards
the exit at the back of the train, down the ramp, and take the
staircase directly to your left. Up the stairs, walk straight for 2.5
blocks - the Barcade entrance looks like a loading dock on your left.
(The hipsters smoking outside will be a dead give away).
The L shuts down at midnight, so for those of you hardcore drinkers -
there's a car service accross the street from the bar.
See you there!
