Happy Thanksgiving!
As for myself, I am giving thanks that after months of boot camp level training, sore muscles, and showing up very late at Pubnight, I am finally taking my Aikido test this Wednesday (No I won't be a black belt, but I will get to wear fancy samurai pants). To celebrate my victory (or drown my sorrows if I choke like Eminem in 8 Mile), we will do Pubnight at a spot very close to my dojo and my train home-- McKenna's Pub on 14th. No high-concept decor, no clever cocktails-- just an Irish pub with a respectable selection of draft beers and a full menu.
So if you are staying in town, stop by and start off your extra long holiday weekend by giving thanks for the fruit of the brewer's art and the company of good friends (and pray that I don't get into such a celebratory mood that I start demonstrating painful joint locks on innocent bystanding friends).
