PubNight #485 (1/4/06) - 7:30pm at L.I.T.M.

Happy Frickin' New Year! Think positive, kids, 2006 is gonna be great! Na, na, na... We're gonna have a good time! Hey, Hey, Hey!

As a tri-yummy, I also vow to keep true to most of Mike's New Year's resolutions (see: http://pubnight.com/nyc/484.html ); although, I don't know what pipe he was puffing when he said: "We will drink less and take better care of ourselves..." huh, wha...?!?) . So, children of the roving drink temple: I'm making good with the promise that we would hit up Jersey City sometime. And that time is NOW... the most wonderful time of the year!! Rebecca and Cindy Birthday Power- Activate!

Becki and I are doubling our tri-yummy powers for an Apache-chief sized Bday Pubnight. And yes, just call us the modern day Wonder Twins. (And no, Mike, I don't think you're Gleek the Monkey, although you'd look really cute in the costume). All you folks who work at Advance-- practically half of Pubnight-- are within a hop, skip of L.I.T.M (aka Love Is The Message) in Jersey City. All you other folks who work in Manhattan, believe it or not, you're minutes away too (see below for dummy-proof directions).

FYI: L.I.T.M. is a local neighborhood bar that Ricky and I check out when we're in the mood for paying for drinks that we already have in our liquor cabinet. It's got a cool vibe, SMOKING is still allowed in JC bars, and they have a tapas menu with decent stuff all under $10. Advance and NJ residents- Happy hour is on until 7 p.m. AND, if Pubnighters are in the mood for late-night drinking, Tasty Milk will open its doors and liquor chest to night owls. Tasty Milk is also the backup and only a half block away. Yay!

So, Pubnight pals, we are looking at 52 weeks of PN coming straight for us. 2006 also marks the 10th year anniversary of Pubnight. May I just say super resoundingly, "We all rock for keeping the drinking tradition alive!"

PATH TRAIN (it's like riding the NYC subway, but cleaner)

Go to nearest PATH train station- WTC, Christopher St, 9 St, 14 St, 23 St, 33 St) (http://www.panynj.gov/path/pathmaplinks2.html).
Pay $1.50 at turnstile (they even take dollar bills).
Make sure you're standing on the NJ-bound side of platform. Get on the train that says- "Journal Sq." or "Newark").
Go two stops into Jersey. Get off at "Grove Street" station.
Go up escalator. Eyeball the McDonalds (which should be across the street).
The big road to the right of McDs is Newark Ave. Walk a half block to 140 Newark Ave.
Kick yourself for not visiting Jersey City sooner (yah, Breedlove, this means you!)

CAR

Take Holland Tunnel.
At very first traffic light (comes quickly after you exit tunnel), make left turn onto Luis Munoz Marin.
Go abt 1.5 miles on Marin to Newark Ave. Make right turn onto Newark Ave. Go two blocks to 140 Newark Ave.
