My Pubnight darlings--
This week the spot of choice is Von, which as a relative PN newcomer I assumed would be a new PN bar, but turns out to be historical Pubnight locale. In October 1999 the first Pubnight of Pubnight Phase II (when the Kris-Petro-Jay triumvirate took the reigns) was held at Von. Then a mere 2 months later Pubnight again visited Von, the final refuge after what TK said was 'a disastrous holiday Pubnight that was supposed to be at Fez.'
Now that it's been over 6 years, it's about time to check Von again. Citysearch says 'Plank floors and benches, candlelight and threadbare sofas give the place a frayed romanticism that perfectly offsets the unmistakable element of hipster cool.' Von has a full liquor bar, but their focus is on a wide selection of wines and European beers.

PS: We had already decided on Von before seeing yesterday's Page Six item about Winona Ryder and Liev Schreiber making out there.
