Hello everybody!
To celebrate Deborah Barber's birthday this week, we will journey to Forbidden City, whose sakes and green tea martinis we last enjoyed 2 years ago this week. I asked Deborah if she wanted to write this week's email, but she decided to pass "because I keep quoting T.S. Elliot's 'The Lovesong of J. Alfred Prufock,' and that's not exactly celebratory."
Deborah has reached an age we are forbidden to mention, but suffice it to say that she's a Pubnight pioneer, having reached a milestone yet to be reach by any other current Pubnight regular (though many of us are not too far behind!). Since it's a big birthday, it deserves a memorable celebration, which she is sure to have by choosing to drink with this group at a sake bar (how many of us will actually have memories of the celebration is another matter entirely).
So come on out, get kureejii (crazy) on sake, and toast Deborah a very happy birthday!
But the weather has warmed and the beer remains cold so come join in our merry revelry as we await the official start of spring, the flowering of flowers, the buzzing of bees, and the rising of R'lyeh. Ia!
Transit Note: The L (for Lame) train will not be running after midnight, which in practice means the last train is probably around 11:30.
