Hiya!
The Bacons are back from a mighty fine trip visiting Sokol and Kris in Portland. I must report that PNWest is alive and well and building a nice momentum. They feature a regular cast of misfits worthy of brandishing the "PN'er" moniker. The BLA (Breast Liberation Army) is also kickin' it hardcore, and I have drunken pics to prove it. Anyone who can get a chance to head out West has an instant Wednesday night must-do.
One definite thing PNWest has over us... NYC beers pale in comparison to the microbrews the Pacific Northwest has to offer. I had somewhat lost my love of beer over the past year or so, but Portland has reinvigorated an obsession. This week's choice, Gatsby's in NoLita, has 14 beers on tap and 40 bottled... I'm going to have my fingers crossed for at least one Portland brew on the menu. Come on NYC, show me what you got, you coiffed & corseted showgirl.
Well, I missed you guys last week. I hope to play catch up with all the crazy stunts you may or may not have pulled at Dublin 6. And, of course, you gotta hear about "The City of Roses" or from Ricky's perspective, "The Land of Beer, Guns and Beer." Did you know that Portland is only 60 miles from Mount St. Helens! On a clear day, the mount looms ominously close on the horizon. Some days you can see puffs of smoke or steam escaping from its still churning belly. So freaky deaky!
Transit Note: Plethora of subways nearby, take your pick: 6 at Spring, BDFV at Bday/Lafayette, NR at Prince/Bdwy, CE at Spring/6th, JMZ at Bowery/Delancey.
Ciya tomorrow,
Cindy (Mike & Rebecca & Gatsby's)
