So it turns out that a Cuba Libre is actually not just rum and Coke. To wit:
1 oz light rum
1/2 oz gin
1/4 oz lime juice
2 dashes bitters
2-3 oz Coke
And it's the most deliriously delicious beverage known to man. Ask my fellow triumvirs, who apparently enjoyed some highly entertaining e- mails from me and Dan some hours after we discovered this secret recipe.
Speaking of delicious beverages, this week I'm taking us to Gaetana's, last visited a year or so ago when it was Bar Nocetti (the owners had a falling out, and the Nocetti of the bunch took a powder). But I was just there the other day, and not much has changed as far as I can tell--potent cocktails, unbelievable pizza, gorgeous decor, tranny hookers wandering around nearby. Ah, my childhood.
