Hiya folks,
This week has started quite somberly with the five year anniversary of 9/11. Everywhere we turn, every TV channel, and apologetically (even this email) has some sort of coverage and rememberance of some sort. We have several reasons to drink this week. I'll list my top three reasons not in any particular order.
1) In true September fashion, it never fails, we've hit a bottleneck of birthdays! We give full birthday props to shiksa worshipper Barry, the McJew in Jackboots. We sing the bday praises of Emily, one hot honey bunny who's usually first in line to doff her brassiere. And of course, super smootches and big bear hugs for our Jossy Poo, sorry kid, I just HAD to. Kick Mike's ass, it's all his fault.
2) We also welcome back to PubNight a veritable powerhouse, the double-teaming Kris and Chris, the big one-two punch of Pubnight goodness. Oregon may have claimed them lately, but PubNight NYC will always be their home.
3) And, I plan to raise a glass to the memory of the FDNY, NYPD and EMS heroes as well all those regular folks who lost their lives that day five years ago. I hate to be all mushy, gushy, but PMS has a way of creeping up on me at some of the most inopportune times.
So, where are we going? To Billyburg! To a self-proclaimed pub for the "rare and obsure." Its reviews claim it's got "specifically Belgian beer, arguably the world's best." For you winos, fret not, that poison comes in many flavors too.
See ya there!

Directions to Spuyten Duyvil...G or L train. L train to first stop in Bklyn (Bedford) or second stop (Lorimer). It is equidistant from both. It's a more direct path from Lorimerstop (but you stay on the train for another stop). OR you can take the G train to Metropolitan Ave then walk a few blocks west to Havemeyer St. Check out the bar website for a map.
