Hi folks,
This week we celebrate the birthday of old-school pubnighter Vineel Shah. How old school? Checking the attendance on the site, I found the earliest listing for Vineel is 10/2/96 at Down the Hatch. So in addition to a certain milestone birthday, we can celebrate nearly 10 years of Vineel gracing Pubnight with his presence. Dude is an institution!
We are heading to Vineel's neighborhood, the East Village We are returning to Kabin, a lounge with log cabin camp decor that Pubnight last visited in December of 2004. Honestly I can't top the email Mike B wrote for that week so I'll steal a bit from it-- based on the CitySearch description he anticipated 'bikers sipping top-heavy fluorescent cocktails and talking about how the Giants suck, or maybe a knitted cozy for the leather sling in the backroom.' I wasn't there that week, so I can't attest to whether or not that's what was actually found at Kabin, but in any case Pubnighters had enough fun there to warrant a return.
Show up early if you want to take advantage of the happy hour specials-- it's 2-for-1 drinks from 5- 8 pm. Also there is a pool table.
