This week, I'm in a great mood. So much so, that for every PubNighter who comes out this week, including first-timer friends that you bring, your first round of drinks is on me. Not only am I drinking vicariously through you all, but I'm also celebrating my promotion at work this week.
You all have suffered through my growing pains at my job usually serving as the sounding board for my bitching and moaning and groaning. I thank you all for being a supportive earpiece through the good and bad of it.
I've said this before and I'll reiterate it again, if it wasn't for PubNight being there for my rough weeks, I'd have taken a dive off the Brooklyn Bridge. Okay, maybe not so dramatic, umm, I might've made a dive bar my bridge of strength through it all without the benefit of good friends like all of you. Sorry, for the mush factor, but it's true.
So, let's meet up at Clandestino, a quaint bar in the LES/Chinatown area I had the pleasure of visiting not long ago. A new term for the area, BelDel (Below Delancey), cropped up in my web research on the place. The bar is reminiscent of a wine cafe in Paris, which makes sense since the owner is from the City of Lights. Their wine and beer selection are pretty decent too.
Come for the drinks! Stay for the company!
Quick tip: The F to East Broadway stop leaves you about a block away. Other trains to the main Canal St stop are not too far, just about 5 blocks away.
A Bientot,
Cindy (Rebecca & Mike)
