Why the walk down 1983 memory lane? This was also the year our youngest regular Pubnighter, Hannah, was born. We celebrate her June 10th birthday this Wednesday at a location of her choice on 80th Street on the West Side.

Anyway, Snopes debunks a few things about 420. It is NOT TRUE that Jim Morrison, Jimi Hendrix and Janis Joplin died on 4/20 or at 4:20. It is also NOT TRUE that the NYC or LA police code for "pot smoking in progress" is 420. However, it IS TRUE that the California's State Senate Bill 420 is the official law allowing wacky tabacky for medical use.
