After Cindy's recent efforts in blank verse, I was seriously tempted to write this week's e-mail in interpretive dance. Sadly, can't do it--bum ankle. And I can't find my semaphore flags, so plain text it is.
We're truly breaking new ground this week with a place so new it doesn't even have a website. (Dare we?) We do have a little bit of info about it, from the solid reporting source known as "The Internet":
Be one of the first to enjoy Flatiron Joe's, the new venue of acclaimed restauranteur Jay Shaffer, just a few doors down from his Shaffer City Oyster Bar and Grill. Due for an official opening in September, Jay is previewing the venue during the months of July and August while he perfects the style of this marvelous new entrant to the Flatiron area. Named for the "Joe's" who worked on building the Flatiron building, Jay wants to see this venue develop into a haven for good folks in this great neighborhood. Expect to be impressed with satisfying food and some great beers on tap ($5 and $6).
Alrighty, sounds good. Though at the moment my palate is not the most discriminating; I doubt I'd look askance at a bartender who gave me a glass of something he'd just wrung out of a towel, provided it was cold.
See you there!
