PubNight #578 (10/17/07) - La Caverna

Previous PubNights PubNight Home

PubNight is about to get prehistoric on your ass. Yah, that's right you heard me, think Flintstones and Jurassic Park and you're getting really warm. Clan of the Cave Bear and you're dead on. I'm talking about caves, like BATMAN... duh, dah, duh, dah, duh, dah, duh, dah, BATMAN.

When people from thousands of years ahead dig up this email somewhere on a rotting something or other, and this sole email is the only thing that remains from the 21st Century, they're going to think, wow, they were really dumb. I can't help it. I think caves and I'm locked in a TV/movie brainwarp. Or Lascaux, which is not as pop culturey.

Anyway, I've been waiting for the newness of this week's PN locale to die down. It's been around a couple of years now. I think the buzz has subsided. From what Sheckys says:

"The beers are reasonably priced, the bartenders are extremely friendly, and there's something oddly satisfying about watching a plasma-screen TV embedded in stalactites. La Caverna is definitely one of the more unique bars on the Lower East Side, and in this neighborhood, that's saying something."

WARNING: Turn off your New York cynicism, it's got a theme. Roll with it. Just drink and get a little dizzy. It's cavernous. We'll have plenty of room to get lost in the past. I'm craving a little twist to our PN selection this week.

Come on, get happy!
