PubNight #595 (2/13/08) - Vintage

Previous PubNights PubNight Home

We're hitting our 12th PN anniversary next month! We're crossing the line of puberty and due for a PubNight Anniversary Bar Mitzvah. Mark your calendars. It's looking like March 26 is going to be the date (pending a confirmation of backroom availability).

Also, another big PN milestone next month, March 19 is our 600th PubNight. Can I just do some simple math for you? Let's just say that PubNight never had more than ONE PubNighter. And that special person drank only ONE beer per PubNight (at $5) for each of those 600 PubNights. According to my high math calculations that comes to $3,000. Anyone care to do all the permutations by adding x people and x number drinks per night? You pick the x.

I'm going to make one sweeping comment here: PubNight is a major boon for New York City's economy. Yes, we have a deeper purpose. We keep NYC alive. Damn, we're amazing.

As a precursor to next month's festivities, we're heading to Vintage in Hell's Kitchen this week. We have reserved space by the bar-- where we can easily have personal tabs-- and be served at the bar by TK's friend, Jeff. The reservation is under TK and Pubnight.

A clip from Sheckys:
Vintage is not for the indecisive. With over 70 types of beer and 200 kinds of martinis (the drink menu, like a bartender's bible, is broken down into sections according to liquor), you can spend a lifetime gaping at the menu before making a decision. But not to worry; Vintage is decked out with comfy couches on which to ponder your choices, and the super-friendly staff won't rush you.

See ya there,
