PubNight #608 (5/14/08) - The Auction House

Hello Pub Night NYC!

I have to admit that I'm a touch wary about this week's Pub Night location. Not for any reason having to do with the bar, or any of you wonderful people; I'm just afraid of the Upper East Side. It seems every time I'm on the UES, I run into a parade that thwarts my attempts to enter Central Park.

Fortunately, Wednesday's plans involve drinking, and no need to cross 5th Avenue, so we shouldn't be needlessly detained. We last went to the Auction House in May of 2006, at the suggestion of Big Fuzzy Chris. Rumor has it that the bar looks like a bordello, with its red velvet curtains. I can't say as I remember that, but odds are good that I was drunk when I was there. Additionally, I've never been to a bordello, so I cannot compare. Anyone who tells you otherwise is lying. Anyone who produces pictures has definitely photoshopped them. Lies, I tell you. Spurious lies!

Also, give Big Fuzzy Chris some love, as his birthday was on Sunday. I'll drink to that.
