PubNight #630 (10/15/08) - Bleecker Street Bar

Previous PubNights PubNight Home

Here's how you play the game. At least what the rules would be according to me:

  1. Everyone gets a shot glass.
  2. Everyone has a beverage.
  3. Take a shot of whatever beverage you have when a candidate says: "maverick," "surge," "HE voted against," or McCain says, "My friends." Of course, there are many other words you can add to the list. You can all agree ahead of time what the words will be-- if you so choose to.

This is PubNight's attempt at being involved in the election process. It makes sense. We're drinkers, we look for excuses to drink. PubNight is fulfilling a major American obligation by encouraging our members of the eligible electorate to get involved. Sure, it's being involved in drinking games, but hell, drinking games are very much a fabric of our society. Much like voting. Heh, see what I just did. Full circle, she comes...

So, we're going to Bleecker Street Bar, exploring yet again another bar we have been meaning to visit. Leila attests it's a serviceable bar for debate watching. I have called ahead, and they promise the debate is the main attraction and the volume WILL be up on the TV. The bar does expect another decent-sized group, but they said that there should be room enough for all of us. Oh, and if you get out of work early, their happy hour goes until 8 p.m. $4 gets you 24 oz. of beer. But, just in case, please note Puck Fair is the backup.

Come on down you mavericks, you.
DRINK!
