Hi all,
Pubnight this week will be at Firefly, a bar that was on our short list of possible debate-watching locales for last week.
Unfortunately, no, it is not a SciFi theme bar based on a Joss Whedon show. But on the positive side, New York Mag has good words for the drinks and food: "The aged scotches and whiskeys and the menu of sliders, mini-pulled-pork sandwiches, salads, and wraps are stellar."
Firefly call themselves an 'upmarket sports bar' which kinda scares me, but there were enough people curious about the place for us to try it out this week. Particularly as there's some sort of big national competitive event going on this Wednesday, something involving small white balls and bats, that certain Pubnighters (erh, well, at least Jocelyn) would very much enjoy watching on Firefly's 16 HDTV screens.
So come on out and enjoy drinking with friends while bathing in the flattering glow of televised sports. If the sports crowd gets too much for us, we'll retreat to Firefly's sister bar Gatsby's, which is right across the street.
