This is my first email as a pubnight Triumvir (individual member of a triumverate, as coined by the short-lived T.V. show Andromeda.)
Pretty exciting, isn't it?
This week we are going to drink at the Musical Box, an old haunt of mine. Write down the address -- it's the kind of door with no sign on it that might draw untoward attention from, you know, customers. It's got a great lounge in back with couches and a pool table, and a small deck outside for smokers to learn to love the rain. There's lots of liquor, beer, and possibly east villagers. The fun game is "couch-Go" -- like the japanese game GO, where you strategically take over couches as the enemy -- the annoying people -- try to do the same to you. (I won't guess as to whether we're the white pieces or the black pieces.)
Also, this week co-stars Marna Bunger, a "back-in-the-day" pubnighter who will be visiting from Los Angeles. If you haven't met her, do. You'll wonder how anybody can be so cheerful, as you're being more cheerful.
