Hallelujah, glory be! It's forecast to be clear this Wednesday night so the triumvirate can FINALLY start working through our list of summertime bars with great outdoor space!
At the top of our list is Whiskey Tavern, which would be a great PN bar anytime of the year. This pub in Chinatown is run by the same brothers who own Whiskey Town in the East Village. Yep, that's the place we went to in May where we all drank copious amounts of Whiskey Lemonade.
True to its name, Whiskey Tavern offers a wide selection of brown liquors, has plenty of big booths, and serves yummy burgers, sandwiches, and, erh, Hostess cupcakes for dessert. But our true aim is the backyard, which has 4 or 5 big picnic tables.
If you want to get there extra early to help claim a table, you will be rewarded with the 4-7 Happy hour specials-- $6 well drinks/Cosmos/Apple martinis; $3 for, well, crappy beers like Miller Lite)
