PubNight #673 (8/19/09) - The Frying Pan

Previous PubNights PubNight Home

This week Pubnight encourages you to cure the August heat and humidity doldrums by jumping out of the fire into The Frying Pan--or possibly the Hudson River.

The Frying Pan, an old rusty retired light boat, along with its dock Pier 66 Maritime Bar and Grill, is one of our favorite outdoor venues. The open air seating allows full enjoyment of cool breezes off the Hudson as well as picturesque sunset views of the NJ shoreline. Also many of us Pubnighters have warm if perhaps a bit fuzzy memories of dancing all night at Blackkat parties held on that lovable bucket of bolts. Finally, it is the summer workplace of the wonderful sexy Melanie, who keeps us well supplied with buckets of Coronas and pitchers of Sangria.

If the river breezes and isolated thunderstorms don't cut the heat--or if the thunderstorms are more than isolated-- we'll migrate the fully indoor Chelsea Brewing Company in Chelsea Piers a few blocks south.

See you there!

Cheers,
Rebecca, Jocelyn, and Vineel

PS: Our favorite Connecticutters-- Marina and Olo-- are slated to make a guest appearance at this week's Pubnight!
