PubNight #702 (3/10/10) - The City Tavern

Previous PubNights PubNight Home

Pub Night, good news! It has come to the world's attention this week that, against all logic, women who drink (in moderation, but we'll ignore that caveat) put on less weight than women who do not drink. So ladies, drink up! Men, consumption of alcohol appears to have no quirky effect on weight gain. So drink to forget that you're putting on weight with every glass.

This week, we head to the recently opened City Tavern, located in the shadows of the deceased Cafe 61. They seem to have a nice array of sandwiches, pastas and dinners, as well as a reasonable tap and wine by the glass. Since it's new and thus far under the radar, we're hoping to get in on the action before it gets popular, thereby allowing us to sniff and say "I was there before it was cool."

We have a table waiting for us, under something that might resemble my name.

Also note: in two week's time (March 24th for you English majors) is Pub Night's 14th anniversary, where we return to the scene of the crime all those many years. Use the intervening time to contemplate all you have done in the last 14 years, and atone, so you can drink freely. And to arrange for March 25th off from work.
