Well! That was a stunning twist in PubNight history that surely was not anticipated by anyone, except for all the people we told and all the people they told. And the people who figured it out on their own. And Shirley MacLaine. Thanks to most of the above and more for coming out and making it happen. Stay tuned for more information on how to contribute to PubNight 3.0.
But the twists just keep on coming! Tomorrow we inaugurate the new structure by trying out an ALL NEW BAR. By which I mean a bar that's been around for a few years but we haven't bothered to use yet. I know! I should have warned you to get a change of pants handy.
Oh, the bar. Deacon Brodie's on Restaurant Row. Dan and I stumbled onto it recently while looking for a new local, and while it's not quite Conker Hill, it is quite special--charming decor, surprisingly ample seating, decent tap selection, reasonable prices, cool bartenders, seldom crowded despite the neighborhood. The catch is that it's on the small side, but I'm pretty sure it'll still be workable on a Wednesday evening...and if not, Perdition makes a dandy backup just a few blocks away.
