Hello Pubnight!
This week we make a rare visit to Midtown East to sample the American craft beer offerings at The Stag's Head. I work nearby, and while there is no lack of pubs in the area, The Stag's Head stands out because of its unusual, constantly rotating draft selection and its surprisingly low after-work douchebag factor.
We have called ahead and reserved some space-- if it's warm enough we'll be seated in their roof top beer garden, otherwise we'll be on the second floor. There is a full menu of mostly pub grub and comfort food, and if you don't want beer they have wine, liquor, coffee and tea. They also serve that somewhat daunting category of drinks called 'beer cocktails.'
Doubling the fun, on the first floor there will be a two brewery event with the Pretty Things Beer & Ale Project and Two Brothers Brewing Co. I had heard of neither of these breweries before but looks like they have some interesting brews. Four beers from each brewery will be on tap, and they will have free mini-meat pies and other giveaways.
