Fellow PubNighters, I seem to have a problem. I was tasked with this highly important task of informing you on the finer points of this milestone pubnight, #750, which is predictably at Valhalla in Hell's Kitchen. And I have lost my inspiration for creative writing.
It shouldn't be this difficult. Valhalla has many theme points: the afterlife, opera, Xena, valkyries. I should easily be able to construct an interesting email, right? And I have...in previous emails regarding this bar. Dammit, tradition!
No problem! Something would occur to me during my daily travels. But truly, the 3 train at 10 a.m. is not the place to be pondering the afterlife. I retreated to the safety of showtunes for my commute.
So this evening, I thought I'd watch a hockey game while I waited for a muse to strike. Lightning versus Sabres, might be themed somehow. Unfortunately, my muse was bored by the 7-4 score, and went to help my neighbor practice her arias.
Then I decided there would be inspiration in this limited edition IPA...which I proceeded to choke on, and spew across my keyboard.
I quit.
Therefore, I copy and paste from previous emails.
This week, in honor of having survived another 50 weeks of drinking, we all return valiantly to Valhalla without being killed by our enemies in battle. Exposed brick walls, 33 beers on tap, and enough table and standing space to handle our crowd.
