It's my birthday pubnight!
This year is, apparently, the year I am going to start liking beer. Like, actual good beer. In that vein, it seems only appropriate for us to attend a bar which serves good beer.
Upstate only opened about a week ago, and the owner, Shane, has agreed to let me have the entire bar for Wednesday for my birthday Pubnight. I encourage everyone to show up so we can show Shane that it was worth his while to close his brand new bar for one night just for Pubnight.
Upstate is not only a good beer bar, it also has wine, an awesome selection of oysters on the half shell (both west coast and east) and other seafood (whatever Shane finds fresh that day). They do not have a full liquor license, just beer and wine.
If you don't want seafood, you can always try the new Filipino restaurant up First Avenue that actually has Balut on the menu.

Yes, I am 37 years old and, as of last month, I have been coming to Pubnight for over 15 years. Slowly but surely, my birthday pubnight has replaced my actual birthday party. Let's make it a blow-out.
