I pondered today what this week's Pub Night should celebrate. We could celebrate that no NY teams are in contention for any baseball awards, but then Jaye might kill me. Or we could celebrate the faint, faint grey line that appeared on my gel yesterday, indicating that I might not be a failure at science after all, but that would ensure that I never see such a line again. We could celebrate British National Coming Out day, but that would legitimize the fact that they celebrate it a day late (damn contrarians!).
Instead we will celebrate the fact that after 8 pair-bonded years, Chris's and my parents will finally be meeting this January. We will celebrate this by going to a bar I, in fact, discovered WITH my parents, though sadly this time they will not be picking up the tab. If you have something else to celebrate, we can toast that, as well.
