This is one of those emails you get when someone suddenly realizes mid-draft that the bar he's chosen was the site of a PubNight in the recent past. And that the other two places he'd been thinking of both closed with little fanfare a couple years back. And that he'd better make up his mind and write something fast before people start knocking on his door demanding answers.
To change the subject: Characters! Good bar, good food, good location. It does not inspire me to write anything notably witty or wistful, as might one of those others, but that should not be held against it.
