I had been thinking of using the month of August to return to a few taverns from the PubNights of yore, but have not had the time to check any out to see if they are still open and worth a return trip. Fortunately I passed a saloon on my walk home from a meeting tonight that looked good and is in a convenient area, just north of Union Square, that we don't get to often.
After 800+ Wednesdays, I should have known that if I scoured the previous PubNight list, I'd find this long forgotten gin joint. We were there once and only once, back at PubNight #27 on October 16, 1996. The only note from that PubNight is "meat loaf". I wish I could remember what that was about.
