PubNight #861 (3/27/13) - Anniversary Pubnight at Swift Hibernian Lounge

Previous PubNights PubNight Home

Good afternoon, fellow Pubnighters!

It's the end of March, and you know what that means: Party time!

Pub night is now...*drumroll*...SEVENTEEN! Pub Night can now see R-rated movie without its parents. Isn't that special?

As stated in the Pub Night charter, we are required to celebrate our founding on the last week of every March. We shall be celebrating at Swift Hibernian Lounge, site of the now-infamous Pub Night 1. For those of you with terrible memories, or who have imbibed a touch too much at previous anniversaries, Swift is an East Village Irish bar with tasty pub grub, and a delightful selection of beers. Yes, delightful. I order you to be delighted by the selection of beers. I shall settle for being delighted by the fried potatoes. Even more important than the beer and potatoes is the dais from which we can make important (i.e. absurd) speeches and toasts. As a bonus, we freak out the mundanes in the bar.

It has come to my attention that some of you have been lax in your attendance of late. We miss you! Come to anniversary, and all will be forgiven. All friends and family are welcome! Enemies not welcome, as bloodshed ruins the vibe. Find us in the back room! Last year we outlasted the Skeptics Meetup that was hoping to glom our tables after we left. Can we top that achievement this year? Let's find out!

Now, get thee to the potatoes and beer! Feel free to head there now and wait for the rest of us.

Here's to 860 more!

Uncreatively, but always, yours,
Jocelyn
